Is this an authentic piece? How should I care for it?

Can I use it for vertical shots, or only for flat lays?
▶Absolutely. Since the material is flexible and paper-like, you can easily hang it vertically using clips to create a professional backdrop for straight-on shots. Beyond flat lays, the authentic physical textures capture light in a way that creates incredible depth. Because fine foil is densely packed across the surface, the light doesn't hit uniformly—it shimmers in all kinds of interesting ways. It has a matte finish that doesn't reflect too harshly while still looking high-end, making it a great match for rings and metal accessories.

Turned out exactly as pictured, which is great. It does curl up a bit, so you'll need weights on the four corners. I tried placing sand on it, and as long as you don't scrub the surface too hard, it held up surprisingly well. Once you brush the sand off, it looks good as new, so you can use it over and over.
I deal in Japanese bonsai trees. Placing this in the background gives it such an authentic Japanese vibe and really makes the bonsai pop. Thank you!

It’s super lightweight and easy to handle. Anyone can easily hold it with one hand, which is wonderful. I’ve heard that while many countries can make thick paper, very few can master ultra-thin paper. This exquisite foil thickness has got to be down to Japanese craftsmanship.
Love how low the reflection is. Glare is the ultimate enemy of metallic surfaces, but this has a really well-thought-out, calculated shine to it.
I'd love a larger format—about double the width. It's a bit too narrow for full model photography. Such a shame because the material itself is so cool.
Up until now I was using digital print backdrops, but this is hands down better. It's not cheap-looking at all; since it's the real deal, it exudes true quality!
