Is this an authentic piece? How should I care for it?

We recommend avoiding direct sunlight to preserve its authentic luster for decades.
Can I use it for vertical shots, or only for flat lays?

The visual effect is undeniable. It adds incredible organic depth that photographs beautifully. However, the material itself is quite delicate. You have to be extremely careful not to crease it or get it wet, which is a bit unforgiving. I wish it had a bit more durability for frequent studio setup changes. It’s more of a backdrop for "special occasions" rather than heavy everyday use.
As a commercial photographer, I was tired of flat, printed vinyl backdrops. I ordered this collection, and the actual texture is completely different. When you apply side lighting, the delicate foil details catch the light and create stunning organic depth. It completely elevated the quality of my product photography.
I absolutely love the unique, handcrafted Japanese aesthetic of this backdrop. This metallic blue shade is also subtle and sophisticated. My main drawback is the cost-performance ratio; at this price point, I wish it were a standard, wider studio size instead of a narrow roll. The current width makes it tricky to pull back for wider shots without seeing the edges. I'm hoping for more diverse, darker color options in the future too.
